Pet Wellness Care Programs for All Life Stages
Puppy & Kitten Wellness
Congratulations on your new pet! Our puppy and kitten wellness programs are designed to start your young companion on the path to a long, healthy life. These first few months are critical for development, and we provide guidance on nutrition, training, behavior, and litterbox training for kittens.
Schedule your pet’s first exam as soon as possible. Young animals need a series of vaccines to protect against serious diseases:
- Puppies: rabies, distemper, and parvovirus
- Kittens: rabies, panleukopenia (distemper), and possibly feline leukemia virus (FeLV) and feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV)
Both puppies and kittens commonly have parasites like roundworms, which can cause various symptoms and be transmitted to humans. Early testing and treatment protect both your pet and your family.
Adult Pet Wellness
Annual wellness exams help ensure your pet remains healthy and allow us to detect hidden conditions early. Dogs and cats age faster than humans and can be skilled at hiding symptoms, making regular checkups crucial.
During your pet’s exam, we will:
- Perform a comprehensive physical assessment
- Administer appropriate vaccinations and preventives
- Conduct diagnostic testing to check for parasites and underlying diseases
- Recommend dental care if needed
As your pet’s primary caregiver, please inform us of any physical or behavioral changes you’ve noticed. Call today to schedule your pet’s exam!
Senior Pet Wellness
As pets enter their senior years (generally around 7 years for dogs and 8 years for cats), they require more specialized attention. Our senior wellness program helps detect age-related conditions earlier, when they’re easier to manage.
We recommend:
- A baseline exam and diagnostic workup before your pet reaches senior status
- More frequent exams and testing for senior pets
- Appropriate interventions for age-related symptoms, including cognitive dysfunction
- Customized care plans that address pain management, nutrition, exercise, and environmental modifications
We’ll tailor a senior wellness plan to your pet’s individual needs to ensure the highest quality of life in their golden years.
Parasite Prevention
Fleas
These blood-sucking parasites cause itching, irritation, allergies, and can transmit other diseases. Fleas affect various pets and can even bite humans. We offer effective prevention and treatment options to keep your home and pet flea-free.
Heartworms
Transmitted by mosquitoes, heartworms can cause severe damage to your pet’s heart, lungs, and blood vessels. Symptoms in dogs include coughing, fatigue, weight loss, and breathing difficulties. Cats can develop heartworm-associated respiratory disease (HARD) with symptoms similar to asthma.
Treatment is expensive and risky—prevention is far safer and more cost-effective. Monthly preventives often protect against multiple parasites simultaneously.
Ticks
Ticks are increasingly common throughout North America and transmit serious diseases like Lyme disease, Rocky Mountain spotted fever, and others. Regular use of tick preventives is the best protection, even for indoor pets, as ticks can enter your home on clothing.
We recommend checking your pet for ticks after outdoor activities and contacting us immediately if you notice symptoms like coughing, joint pain, fever, or changes in appetite or energy.
