Dr. Maria Zayas

Veterinarian, Part Time Associate

Education: St. George's University School of Veterinary Medicine

Hometown: Orange, New Jersey

Pets: Boo Boo and PITA, black labs, and Birdie the leash trained hiking cat.

Dr. Zayas’ childhood dream to become a veterinarian was fulfilled in 2004 when she graduated from St. George’s School of Veterinary Medicine. She loves all creatures and has experience with many species from companion animals and pocket pets, to farm, zoos, research, and wildlife. Her special interest is in soft tissue surgery, dentistry and geriatric care. Although she isn’t an exotic specialist, she will see pocket pets like rabbits, guinea pigs, small rodents, and some reptiles. Dr. Zayas also enjoys going to Veterinary Continuing Education Courses to learn about new ways to help keep your pet healthy for years to come. She is always happy to educate and empower pet owners to be the best caretakers they can be. So, don’t hesitate to ask that question you have.

Dr. Zayas originally hails from the East Coast but loves to travel. During one of her adventures, she fell in love with the Pacific Northwest and decided to call Washington home. She moved here with her 3 fur-babies, Boo Boo, PITA, and Birdie. On her days off you can find her hiking and camping in the forests in her relentless search for Sasquatch.
